The Problem With Migration Tooling

In 2005, migrating a database meant weeks of manual schema scripting, custom ETL pipelines written in Perl, and a cutover weekend that nobody slept through. In 2026, most teams are still doing it the same way — just with fancier spreadsheets.

We have migrated over 500 enterprise databases across two decades. Oracle estates with 400 stored procedures. Multi-terabyte partitioned tables. PL/SQL packages that had not been touched since 2008. Every time, we used a patchwork of tools — some commercial, most homegrown — stitched together with shell scripts and hope.

Two Camps, Neither Good Enough

What We Built Instead

• AI-powered PL/SQL transpiler — handles packages, triggers, cursors, and autonomous transactions. Not just simple functions. Every converted object is reviewed by our engineers.
• CDC-based zero-downtime cutover — keeps PostgreSQL in sync with Oracle via LogMiner until the moment you flip the switch. Sub-second lag at cutover.
• Row-hash checksum validation — at the partition level. We do not call a migration complete until every partition is verified. Row counts are not enough.
• Fixed-price engagements — hourly billing incentivises slow migration, not fast. We scope upfront, fix the price, and own the outcome.
